Fromes Hill - 30mph Speed Limit & Prohibition of Overtaking Traffic Regulation Order

(VARIOUS TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022 (VARIATION) ORDER No.4 2026 (A4103 FROMES HILL) (PROHIBITION OF OVERTAKING)

The County of Herefordshire District Council, known as Herefordshire Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 4 and 84 of Part I and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (the 2004 Act) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby proposes to make the above-named Order the effect of which would vary the Herefordshire Council (Speed Limit) (Consolidation) Order 2022 and the Herefordshire Council (Various Traffic Movements) (Consolidation) Order 2022 so that:

A 30mph speed limit be introduced on the following roads:

A4103 - From a point 80m east of its junction with the C1158 for a distance of 1080m

C1135 - From its junction with the A4103 to a point 186m in a north direction

C1159 - From its junction with the A4103 to a point 30m in a south direction

U65631 - For its entire length

U65635 - From its west junction with the A4103 to a point 243m in a generally east direction

A Prohibition of Overtaking be introduced on the following roads:

A4103 - From a point 194m east of its junction with the C1158 for a distance of 780m.

A copy of the 2022 Order, the draft Variation Order named above, a consultation plan and Statement of Reasons can be viewed on the Council's website at www.herefordshire.gov.uk in the Proposed Traffic Regulation Order section. They are also available for inspection during normal office hours at the Hereford Customer Service Centre, Blue School House, Blue School Street, Hereford, HR1 2LX. Photocopies of the same may be provided on payment of photocopying charges at the Council.

General enquiries relating to the proposal should be referred to the Road Safety & Traffic Engineering Team at Herefordshire Council (Tel: 01432 260683). Objections to the proposal together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing to the Road Safety & Traffic Engineering Team, Economy & Environment, Herefordshire Council, Plough Lane, Hereford, HR4 0LE, or by email to trafficengineering@herefordshire.gov.uk. The deadline for the receipt of objections is 12:00 noon on Friday 31st July 2026. Representations of support will also be received during this time.
