(WESTON ON THE GREEN AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that on 6 July 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which comes into force on 13 July is to further amend speed limits in Weston-on-the-Green as follows:
A. 30mph speed limits – replacing the previous 40mph speed limit on the following roads:
a) B430 Northampton Road – between a point 105 metres south of its roundabout junction with the A34 southbound slip road (Ardley), and a point 280 metres north of its junction with North Lane.
b) B430 Oxford Road (to the A34 southbound slip road) – from its junction with the B430 Northampton Road, south-eastwards for a distance of 74 metres,
c) Knowle Lane, North Lane, Shepherds Close & Westlands Avenue – for their entire lengths.
B. 40mph speed limit – extend the 40mph on the B430 Northampton Road, (adjacent to the RAF airfield) southwards to a point 280 metres north of its junction with North Lane (Weston on the Green), and northwards to a point 300 metres north of its junction with Akeman Street (Chesterton), replacing the previous 60mph National speed limit in the process.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Weston on the Green Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2021 is revoked/replaced.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Ambrosden Footpath 105/7/10 Closure
Date of Order: 27 July 2026
Coming into force: 1 August 2026
This Order is being introduced to ensure safety of public whilst dwelling construction works are carried out which is anticipated to be completed August 2029. This is a 24 hour footpath closure. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of Footpath No.105/7/10 east of Iris Close and south of Blackthorn Road across proposed development. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. The alternative route is provided via nearby private land. This Order will remain in force initially for a maximum period of 6 months and application may be made to the Secretary of State for Transport to extend the order. (Ref: T18288/AC)
