NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HALIFAX ROAD AREA, BRIERFIELD, PENDLE BOROUGH) (ROAD HUMPS)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980, Lancashire County Council propose the following:
1. Introduce raised tables in the following locations:
a) Arthur Street, Brierfield, from its junction with Halifax Road for a distance of 8.2 metres in a northerly direction;
b) Walter Street, Brierfield, from its junction with Halifax Road for a distance of 8.2 metres in a southerly direction;
c) Hill Street, Brierfield, from its junction with Walter Street for a distance of 8.47 metres in a westerly direction;
d) Hill Street, Brierfield, from its junction with Walter Street for a distance of 9.71 metres in an easterly direction;
e) Walter Street, Brierfield, from its junction with Reedley Road for a distance of 10.64 metres in a northerly direction;
f) Wood Street, Brierfield, from its junction with Walter Street for a distance of 7.95 metres in a westerly direction
g) Wood Street, Brierfield, from its junction with Walter Street for a distance of 7.7 metres in an easterly direction
h) Union Street, Brierfield, from its junction with Crabtree Street for a distance of 7.72 metres in a northerly direction
The raised tables will have a maximum height not exceeding 75mm.
2. Introduce raised junction tables in the following locations:
a) Commercial Street, Brierfield, from the intersection of the centreline of Arthur Street for a distance of 9.44 metres in a westerly direction and a distance of 9.25 metres in an easterly direction;
b) Arthur Street, Brierfield, from the intersection of the centreline of Commercial Street for a distance of 9.6 metres in a northerly direction and a distance of 9.97 metres in a southerly direction;
c) Chapel Street, Brierfield, from the intersection of the centreline of Arthur Street for a distance of 9.31 metres in a westerly direction and a distance of 9.98 metres in an easterly direction;
d) Arthur Street, Brierfield, from the intersection of the centreline of Chapel Street for a distance of 9.79 metres in a northerly direction and a distance of 10.11 metres in a southerly direction;
e) Castle Street, Brierfield, from the intersection of the centreline of Arthur Street for a distance of 9.21 metres in a westerly direction and a distance of 9.5 metres in an easterly direction;
f) Arthur Street, Brierfield, from the intersection of the centreline of Castle Street for a distance of 9.66 metres in a northerly direction and a distance of 9.3 metres in a southerly direction;
g) Walter Street, Brierfield, from a point 24.81 metres south of its junction with the centreline of High
h) Street for a distance of 57.62 metres in a southerly direction;
i) Crabtree Street, Brierfield, from the intersection with the centreline of Walter Street for a distance of 11.57 metres in a westerly direction.
The raised junction tables will have a maximum height not exceeding 75mm.
3. Introduce speed humps in the following locations:
a) Burnley Road, Brierfield, from a point 4.75 metres south of its junction with the centreline of Montague Street for a distance of 3.7 metres in a southerly direction;
b) Burnley Road, Brierfield, from a point 12.89 metres south west of its junction with the centreline of Guilford Street for a distance of 3.7 metres in a south westerly direction;
c) Halifax Road, Brierfield, from a point 11.33 metres east of its junction with the centreline of Arthur Street for a distance of 3.7 metres in an easterly direction.
The speed humps will have a maximum height not exceeding 65mm.

A copy of the relevant notice and plan, indicating the proposal may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of the Pendle Borough Council, No1 Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 9LU and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
