Essex County Council

(Countess Cross Road, Bures Hamlet/White Colne & Dawes Hall Road, White Colne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Countess Cross Road, Bures Hamlet/White Colne & Dawes Hall Road, White Colne in the District of Braintree, from the junction of Catley Road for a distance of approximately 1160m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2391681/A/B – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Countess Cross Road, Lawshall’s Hill, Colne Park Road, Colchester Road, Bures Road, Colne Road, Ravensfield Farm Road, Countess Cross Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 16th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Halstead Road, Sible Hedingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Halstead Road, Sible Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 890m north west of its junction with Bradleys Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2026 for 2 nights (20:00–06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010727967 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).

An alternative route is available via A1017, A131 and vice versa (with access only into Hedingham Road, Halstead Road – A1124 and Halstead Road).

The Order will come into effect on 16th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Mill Lane, Colne Engaine) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Colne Engaine in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 30m south east of its junction with Church Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310748575 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).

An alternative route is available via Lawshall’s Hill, Countess Cross, Overhall Hill, Green Farm Road, The Green, Church Street and vice versa (with access only into Mill Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 16th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Nightingale Hall Road, Greenstead Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nightingale Hall Road, Greenstead Green in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 320m south east then south of its junction with Parley Beams Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166834107 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stoptap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 16th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Parkhall Road, Wethersfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Parkhall Road, Wethersfield in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 345m north east then south east of its junction with Beazley End for a distance of approximately 30m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310806439 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).

An alternative route is available via Parkhall Road, Beazley End, Blackmore End, Hedingham Road, Wethersfield Road, Almshouse Green, Wethersfield Road, Prayors Hill, Rectory Road, A1017, Church Road, Parkhall Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 16th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Sudbury Road, Little Maplestead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sudbury Road, Little Maplestead in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 175m north east of its junction with Collins Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310809284 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).

An alternative route is available via A131, A1124, A1017, A1092, A134, A131 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 16th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Kings Road, Halstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Temporary Suspension of One Way) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Kings Road, Halstead in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 20m north west of its junction with Parsonage Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction.

2. To temporarily suspend the one-way restriction in that length of Kings Road, Halstead in the District of Braintree from its junction with Parsonage Street to its junction with Mitchell Avenue a distance of approximately 270m as detailed in The Essex County Council (Kings Road, Halstead) (One Way) Order 2005, for the duration of the above closure for access only.

The closure/suspension is scheduled to commence on 22nd July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03167322097 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National) Limited.

An alternative route is available via A131, A1124, Mallows Field, Parsonage Street and vice versa (with access only into Kings Road).

The Order came into effect on 2nd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
