What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C937

RINGSFIELD ROAD, C965 BALLYGATE, F4190 FOOTWAY

OUTSIDE NUMBER 18 HOMEFIELD PADDOCK TO

BALLYGATE, U1433 ASHMANS ROAD AND WAVENEY

ROAD AND U1432 PUDDINGMOOR, BECCLES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases;

  1. C937 Ringsfield Road, Beccles from the junction with St Marys Road to the junction with Ashmans Road

  2. C965 Ballygate, Beccles from the junction with St Marys Road to the junction with Homefield Paddock

  3. F4190 Footway outside number 18 Homefield Paddock to Ballygate, Beccles

  4. U1433 Ashmans Road, Beccles from the junction with Upper Grange Road for 50 metres eastbound

  5. U1433 Waveney Road, Beccles from the junction with Ashmans Road for 200 metres southbound

  6. U1432 Puddingmoor, Beccles from 200 metres northeast of the junction with Bungay Road for 215 metres eastbound

This is to facilitate gas mains replacement works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion routes will be;

  1. Church Road, Cromwell Road, London Road, St Marys Road and vice versa

  2. Northbound: St Marys Road, Peddars Lane, Blyburgate, Smallgate, Old Market, Saltgate and no vice versa

    Southbound: Market Street, Station Road, Newgate, Blyburgate, Peddars Lane, St Marys Road and no vice versa

  3. Homefield Paddock, Ballygate and vice versa

  4. London Road, St Marys Road, Ringsfield Road and vice versa

  5. South Road, London Road, St Marys Road, Ringsfield Road and vice versa

  6. Bungay Road, Ballygate, Saltgate and vice versa.

    3. 24/08/2026 - 13/09/2026

    4. 01/09/2026 - 22/09/2026

    5. 01/09/2026 - 22/09/2026

    If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
