What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF MID SUFFOLK) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019 (PARISH OF STRADBROKE) (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.32) ORDER 2026

On 8th July 2026 Suffolk County Council made the above Order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would incorporate revision 0 of Map Tile CW136 into the above-named 2019 Order. The effect of this would be to introduce:

'No waiting at any time'

i' North side of New Street (B1117), Stradbroke, from its junction with Queen Street and Church Street to a point 15 metres south-west.

i' North side of Church Street (B1117), Stradbroke, from its junction with Queen Street and New Street to a point 18 metres north-east.

i' Both sides of Queen Street (B1118), Stradbroke, from its junction with Church Street and New Street to a point 20 metres north-west.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for blue badge-holders.

A copy of the Order, which comes into effect on 15/07/2026, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Stradbroke Library, Court House, Queens Street, Stradbroke IP21 5HG between Monday: 2pm - 5pm, Tuesday: 2pm - 5pm, Thursday: 9am - 1pm, 2pm - 5pm, Friday: 2pm - 5pm and Saturday: 9am - 1pm.

If anyone wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1118 CHURCH ROAD, WILBY ROAD AND WOOTEN GREEN, WILBY AND STRADBROKE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the;

? B1118 Church Road, Wilby from the junction with Worlingworth Road to Wilby Road, Wilby

? B1118 Wilby Road, Wilby

? B1118 Wooten Green, Wilby and;

? B1118 Wilby Road, Stradbroke

This is to facilitate patching, surface dressing and road marking works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1117, the B1116, the B1118 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from

? 21/07/2026 - 22/07/2026 from 8am - 5pm

? 25/07/2026 - 26/07/2026 from 4am - 9am

? 12/08/2026 - 15/08/2026 from 7.30pm - 5am

With a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6132 BROOM ROAD, LAKENHEATH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U6132 Broom Road, Lakenheath from number 35 for 30 metres eastbound to facilitate electrical work. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Broom Road, the B1112, Wings Road, Highfields, Broom Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 20/07/2026 from 8am - 6pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1079 WOODBRIDGE ROAD, GRUNDISBURGH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1079 Woodbridge Road, Grundisburgh from Hill House for 170 metres northwestbound to facilitate pole testing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1079, the A12, the B1078, the B1079 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 20/07/2026 from 10am–3pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C323 ROSE HILL AND IPSWICH ROAD, GRUNDISBURGH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads

? C323 Rose Hill, Grundisburgh from the junction with Alice Driver Road to Ipswich Road

? C323 Ipswich Road, Grundisburgh from Grundisburgh Hall to Alice Driver Road

This is to facilitate the installation of fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Street, Grundisburgh, Stoney Road, Bonds Corner, Clopton Road, Grundisburgh, Clopton Road, Swilland, Clopton Road, Witnesham, Clopton Road, Tuddenham St Martin, The Street, Tuddenham St Martin, Grundisburgh Road, Tuddenham St Martin, Ipswich Road, Culpho, Grundisburgh Road, Culpho and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2026 - 03/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE U23628 LITTLE ST JOHNS STREET, WOODBRIDGE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the ZU3628 Little St Johns Street, Woodbridge from 100 metres southwest of the junction with St Johns Street for 20 metres south westbound to facilitate a water pipe repair. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be St Johns Street, Vicarage Hill, St Johns Hill, New Street and no vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a temporary suspension of the one-way provision on the U23628 Little St Johns Street, Woodbridge from the junction with St Johns Street to the junction with New Street to allow access and egress.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 7pm on 20/07/2026 to 6am on 21/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C568 MELLIS ROAD AND YAXLEY ROAD AND THE U5409 THRANDESTON ROAD, MELLIS AND YAXLEY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

1. C568 Yaxley Road, Mellis from the junction with Earlsford Road to Mellis Road

C568 Mellis Road, Yaxley from Yaxley Road to Judas Lane

U5409 Thrandeston Road, Mellis from Yaxley Road to The Old Dairy

2. C568 Mellis Road, Yaxley from the junction with Thornham Lane to The Cherry Tree

This is to facilitate a water mains replacement scheme. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

For Mellis Road and Yaxley Road:

The Street, Eye Road, the A140, the A143, Mellis Road, Wortham, Mellis Road, Burgate, Ash Road, The Common and vice versa.

For Thrandeston Road:

Mellis Road, Thrandeston, Little Green, Great Green, Thrandeston Road, Brome and Oakley, the A140, Eye Road, The Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

1. 20/07/2026 - 31/08/2026

2. 31/08/2026 - 16/10/2026

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE F2445 FOOTWAY ALONGSIDE NUMBER 20 AVOCET LANE TO OUTSIDE NUMBER 39 LARK RISE, MARTLESHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the F2445 Footway alongside number 20 Avocet Lane to outside number 39 Lark Rise, Martlesham from the junction with Footway outside number 41 to number 63 Lark Rise to the junction with Lark Rise to facilitate laying telecommunication ducting for spine cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Lark Rise, Footway outside number 41 to number 63 Lark Rise and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/07/2026 - 22/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2026 - 10/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1085, the B1506, Gazeley Road, Mill Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 21/07/2026 from 7am - 11.59pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
