NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council ("the Council") proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 5 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to makes the following Order: -
The effects of the proposed Orders are;
Parking proposals:
• Extension of the existing no waiting at any time and eventday no loading prohibitions on both sides of Grace Road, at its junction with Aylestone Road.
Moving proposals:
• Introduction of a short one-way section on Park Hill Drive into Grace Road to reduce vehicle turning movements at its junction with Grace Road.
• Prohibition of motor vehicles at the eastern junction of Park Hill Drive with Aylestone Road
To revoke certain existing prohibitions and restrictions.
A COPY of the proposed Orders, the relevant plan, the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen at Leicester City Council's website: https://leicester.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders or https:// leicester.traffweb.app/traffweb/2/PublicConsultation.
OBJECTIONS to the proposed Orders must be made in writing, must specify the grounds on which they are made and must be sent to Major Transport Projects, Leicester City Council, City Hall, Charles Street, Leicester LE1 1FZ or email major-transport-projects@leicester.gov.uk and mark for the attention of Pabinder Kaur. Any objections should quote ref. 'TMP2016' for the one way on Park Hil Drive ('moving proposals') and/or quote ref 'TMP1041' for parking proposals. Objections must be received by 4th August 2026.
The amended parking and traffic manoeuvre proposals are to reflect changes to the new junction alignment which is intended to make it safer for walkers wheelers and cyclists.
