What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS SANDPITS LANE, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Sandpits Lane commencing at its junction with Bennetts Road and continuing to its junction with Tamworth Road. 

The Order would come into effect from 00:01 hours on Monday 20th July 2026 and is required to enable approximately 150m of excavation to install a new foul sewer. 

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Sunday 23rd August 2026. 

Exemptions would be provided for: a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform; 

b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order; 

c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; d) local vehicular access to Sandpits Lane. 

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

PROPOSED TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER CITY OF COVENTRY 
(JUDD'S LANE AND ROWLEY'S GREEN LANE) (NO STOPPING AT ANY TIME AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026 

Notice is hereby given that, Coventry City Council (the Council'), pursuant to its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), propose to make the above Traffic Regulation Order ("the Order"). The effect of the proposed Order shall be to introduce: 
• A 'No Stopping At Any Time' restriction along the length of Judd's Lane 

• A 'No Stopping At Any Time' restriction along that part of Rowley's Green Lane from its junction with Jimmy Hill Way (A444) to its junction with Judds Lane 

• Limited Waiting for Buses only on the southern side of Judds Lane adjacent to Coventry Football Stadium 

• Limited Waiting on the southern side of Judds Lane adjacent to the Coventry Football Stadium The Order is proposed for the purposes of improved public safety, improved vehicular access and a more amenable and safer route for pedestrians accessing and egressing the football stadium. 

A copy of this Notice, the draft Order, plan and Statement of Reasons for proposing to make this Order may be inspected at the Council House (reception area) Earl Street, Coventry and on the Council's website at www.coventry.gov.uk/tro.

NOTICE OF INTENT PROPOSED SPEED CUSHIONS - PROFFITT AVENUE 

Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council ("the Council"), under Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980, intends to install physical traffic calming measures in the form of road humps (speed cushions) along Proffitt Avenue. It is proposed that six sets of two speed cushions no more than 100mm high are installed on Proffitt Avenue at the following locations:- 

1) Approximately 46 metres south of its junction with Dudley Street (outside No 86) ii) Approximately 119 metres south of its junction with Dudley Street (outside number 68) 

iii) Approximately 161 metres south of its junction with Dudley Street (outside number 58) 

iv) Approximately 35 metres north of its junction with Armfield Street (outside numbers 44/46) 

v) Approximately 28 metres south of its junction with Armfield Street (outside number 34). 

vi) Approximately 29 metres north of its junction with Johnson Road (outside numbers 18/20) The proposed speed cushions should assist to reduce vehicle speeds and improve road safety on this road.

Local Government Act 1972 Section 123 (1) and (2A) Notice of Intended disposal of Open Space land by way of a grant of an easement 

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Coventry, in exercise of their powers under section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) intends to dispose of by way of a grant of an easement over two pieces of land forming part of Gosford Green Park Coventry, measuring in total approximately 6 metres in length. 

The plan showing the piece of land may be inspected at the Council House, Earl Street, Coventry, CV1 5RR during normal office hours, or on the Council's website at https://www.coventry.gov.uk/parks or by requesting a copy of the same by sending an email to Paul.Beesley@coventry.gov.uk
