What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(LINDHURST BRIDLEWAY NO.2)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: -

No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed and
(d) cause any animal to proceed,
in the following length of bridleway at Lindhurst in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -
Lindhurst Bridleway No. 2 between its junction with
Lindhurst Bridleway No.3 and No.9 and Blidworth Lane Rainworth. 

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:- From 13th July 2026 for approximately 2 months

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no direct alternative route on public bridleways.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the bridleway . It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable access for resurfacing, fencing and waymarking of the confirmed minor Diversion and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the path.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN
SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED
THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 10TH DAY OF JULY 2026.
