What is happening?

REDCAR AND CLEVELAND BOROUGH COUNCIL
FESTIVAL OF THRIFT (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order was to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in the lengths of road specified in the schedule below. Diversion routes were in place prior to the event. Emergency access was maintained at all times.

The Order came into operation at 00.01 hours on 3.7.26 for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a relevant event and was to remain in operation until 12:00 hours on 6.7.26.

The restrictions only applied at such times and to such extent as were from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
