A2 TRUNK ROAD

(DARTFORD HEATH TO TFL BOUNDARY)

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prevent incursion into periodical works proposed to be executed on the TfL network west of the boundary.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of the London-bound carriageway of the A2 between the road leading from it to the TfL boundary approximately 750 metres north-west of the centreline of the western overbridge at Dartford Heath Interchange (A2018); and the road leading to said length of carriageway at the same junction.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake periodic 6-monthly maintenance works on the TfL network.

It is expected that the work would last for approximately 2 nights on each occasion starting on or after Monday 3rd August 2026, starting at 22:00 hours until 05:00 hours. Please visit National Highways or London Borough of Bexley website for more specific information.

The Order would come into force on 1st August 2026 and would remain so until December 24th 2027.

Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A2018, B2174, A207 and the A223.

The temporary prohibitions and diversion would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works periods.
