(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to:

Prohibit any motorised vehicle, any person on foot, on bicycle, on horseback or in a horse drawn vehicle to proceed along that part Byway Open to All Traffic No. 24, Sunninghill from its junction with A329 London Road southward for a distance of 90 metres.

The diversion route for those affected by this proposed Order will be via St Georges Lane, Wells Lane and A329 London Road.

The purpose of the proposed Order is to facilitate the new power connection to a new housing development.

The proposed Order shall be in operation from 00.01 hours Monday 27 July 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding six months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23.59 hours on Thursday 30 July 2026. The Byway Open to All Traffic No. 24 (St Georges Lane) will be closed when signs as prescribed by the Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions 2016 are in place to indicate the said restrictions.
