TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(VALENCE AVENUE, DAGENHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come into effect on Tuesday 28 July 2026. The works expected for:

• Sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway, to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Tuesday 28 July 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8.00pm and 11.59pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:-

• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Marshalled Access) on Valence Avenue from its junction with Becontree Avenue to the extended common boundary of Nos. 377 and 379 Valence Avenue.

• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Marshalled Access) on the partial lane closure on Valence Avenue, southbound carriageway straight ahead lane, from its junction with Becontree Avenue to the extended common boundary of Nos. 333 and 335 Valence Avenue.

• Suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone CH1 Mon–Fri 8.30am–5.30pm on Valence Avenue, east side, outside Nos. 373–377 Valence Avenue.

• Suspend the bus stop on Valence Avenue, east side, outside Nos. 365–371 Valence Avenue.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

• Via Becontree Avenue, Bennetts Castle Lane, Lindisfarne Road and Valence Avenue.
