What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH 

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984  -  SECTION 14 

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS – GLASSHOUSE WALK 

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, to enable water mains replacement works, the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth has made an Order, the effect of which will be to: 

(a) Phase 1 - temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding and waiting, including waiting for the purpose of loading and unloading a vehicle or parking in those lengths of Glasshouse Walk between its junction with Vauxhall Walk and outside No. 7 Glasshouse Walk; 

(b) Phases 2A and 2B: 

(i) temporarily introduce a north-west to south-east one way traffic system in Glasshouse Walk, between its junctions with Vauxhall Walk and Tyers Street; 

(ii) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from waiting, including waiting for the purpose of loading and unloading a vehicle or parking in those lengths of Glasshouse Walk between its junctions with Vauxhall Walk and Tyers Street. 

(c) Phase 2A - temporarily prohibit vehicles from turning right from Worgan Street into Glasshouse Walk 

(d) Phase 2B - temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering Glasshouse Walk from Worgan Street. 

2. Alternative routes for affected vehicles and pedestrians for the measures outlined in 1(b), 1(c) and 1(d) will be available via Tyers Street, Jonathan Street and Vauxhall Walk. 

3. The Order will come into force on 13 July 2026 and continue in force for a maximum duration of 6 months, to allow for contingencies, or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. In practice, it is anticipated that the works will take 5 weeks to complete.
