(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF WOLDGATE, BOYNTON
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of
Woldgate, Boynton from its junction with Sands Lane
east along B1253 High Street continuing along B1253
Bridlington Road south along A165 Bessingby Hill onto
A165 Driffield Road then north along Church Lane
commencing 27 July 2026 between 09.00 hours and
16.30 hours. The reason for the closure is to enable
the proposed part of Woldgate, Boynton tree trimming/
felling works to achieve a vegetation safety clearance
from the overhead high voltage electricity supply, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within eight hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the
Order is via Sands Lane east along B1253 High Street
continuing along B1253 Bridlington Road south along
A165 Bessingby Hill onto A165 Driffield Road then
north along Church Lane, Boynton CP, Bridlington CP,
Carnaby CP, Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward,
East Wolds and Coastal Ward, Bridlington South Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians.
The Order will commence 27 July 2026 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months
or until the works which it is proposed to carry out
have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Further
