(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian to proceed over that length of Trough Road, Dunsop Bridge from a point adjacent to Sykes Farm Cottage travelling in a south easterly direction to a point adjacent to Langden House.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 00:00 hours on 20th July 2026 until 00:00 hours on 23rd August 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016
4. Vehicular access for residents and emergency services will be maintained when following the diversion. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Trough Road – Dunsop Road – Whitewell Road – Chipping Road – Green Lane – Talbot Street – Church Raike – Fish House Lane – Startifants Lane – Lower Core Lane – Oakenclough Road – Bleasdale Lane – Delph Lane – Oakenclough Road – Long Lane – Scorton Marshaw Road – Marshaw Wyre – Trough Road
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow retaining wall repair works to be carried out.
