THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (CEMETERY LANE AND PROVIDENCE STREET, RIPLEY)
TRAFFIC (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) REGULATION ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that, on the Thursday 2nd of July 2026 Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on the Monday 13th of July 2026 and its effect is:
TO PROHIBIT WAITING AT ANY TIME BY VEHICLES (EXCEPT THOSE DELIVERING OR COLLECTING GOODS OR LOADING AND UNLOADING) ON LENGTH(S) OF THE FOLLOWING ROAD(S):
Cemetery Lane, Ripley
North-east side
From its junction with Derby Road in a south-easterly direction, for a distance of 137.5 metres.
Cemetery Lane, Ripley
South-west side
From its junction with Derby Road in a south-easterly direction, to its junction with Providence Street.
From its junction with Providence Street in a south-easterly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
Providence Street, Ripley
East side
From its junction with Cemetery Lane in a southerly direction, for a distance of 6 metres.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge will also apply.
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked. A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, at Ripley Library, 21 Grosvenor Road, Ripley, Derbyshire, DE5 3JE during opening hours and on request by emailing

quoting reference Z3449, until 6 weeks after the Order is made until Thursday 13th of August 2026. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the Thursday 2nd of July 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
