What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HEATH ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Heath Rd, Leighton Buzzard outside number 303.

This temporary closure is required to enable defect reinstatment work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to  10 August 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Linslade Rd, Plantation Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(DERWENT ROAD, LINSLADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Derwent Road, Linslade between Lochy Drive and Greenleas School.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 20 to 24 July 2026. Between the hours of 0800 and 1800hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Soulbury Rd, Southcourt Rd, Himley Green and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 20 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Blackhill, Tilsworth at the junction with Bury Rise.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 21 to 23 July between the hours of 0800 and 1800hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 21 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable pole replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 22 July 2026 between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Gig Lane, Heath & Reach from Leighton Road to outside number 9 Gig Lane.

This temporary closure is required to enable gas mains replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 20 July to 5 August 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Eastern way, Leighton Rd, Gig Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 20 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(LEIGHTON-LINSLADE: FOOTPATH NO. 44 AND PART OF

FOOTPATH NO. 16 (FORMERLY IN THE PARISH OF BILLINGTON))

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)  ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the lengths of:

I.   Footpath No. 44, Leighton-Linslade which extends from its junction with Footpath No. 45, Leighton-Linslade at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9263 2371 in an east-north-easterly direction for approximately 239 metres to its junction with Footpath No. 16, Leighton-Linslade (formerly in the parish of Billington) at OS GR SP 9283 2384.

II.  Footpath No. 16, Leighton-Linslade (formerly in the parish of Billington) which extends from its junction with Footpath No. 44, Leighton-Linslade at OS GR SP 9283 2384 in a generally easterly direction for approximately 60 metres to its junction with Billington Road at OS GR SP 9289 2385.

These temporary closures are required to allow for development works to take place. The closures are expected to take place from 13 July 2026 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

The Order will come into operation on 13 July 2026 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which are proposed to be carried out on or near to the footpaths have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
