What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, ASHFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026 (A26-113)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Linby, Hucknall, Sutton in Ashfield, Underwood, Annesley Woodhouse in the districts of Gedling and Ashfield.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Acacia Avenue, Annesley Woodhouse - For its entire length
b. Barbara Square, Hucknall - For its entire length
c. Norman Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield - From its junction with Station Road for a distance of 50 metres in a southeasterly direction
d. Ward Avenue, Hucknall - From its junction with Wighay Road for a distance of 20 metres in a southeasterly direction
e. Wighay Road, Hucknall - For its entire length
f. Wighay Road, Linby - For its entire length
g. Wilhallow Lane, Underwood - For its entire length
h. Windsor Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. Acacia Avenue, Annesley Woodhouse - For its entire length
b. Barbara Square, Hucknall - For its entire length
c. Norman Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield - From its junction with Station Road for a distance of 50 metres in a southeasterly direction
d. Ward Avenue, Hucknall - From its junction with Wighay Road for a distance of 20 metres in a southeasterly direction
e. Wighay Road, Hucknall - For its entire length
f. Wighay Road, Linby - For its entire length
g. Wilhallow Lane, Underwood - For its entire length
h. Windsor Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 00:01, Tuesday 21st July 2026
Until 23:59, Wednesday 7th October 2026 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Not Applicable
b. Ward Avenue - Wighay Road - Annesley Road and vice versa
c. Not Applicable
d. Barbara Square - Annesley Road - Wighay Road and vice versa
e. Annesley Road - Tokard Way - Station Road - Linby Road Church Lane - Waterloo Road and vice versa
f. Annesley Road - Tokard Way - Station Road - Linby Road - Church Lane - Waterloo Road and vice versa
g. Main Road - Plainspot Road and vice versa
h. Not Applicable
The Order will come into force on Tuesday 21st July 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out carriageway patching works;
