NOTICE OF MAKING TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION ORDER

IN THE BIRKENHEAD AREA 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and all other enabling powers to enable works on or near the roads specified in the proposed order to take place.

The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.

Borough Road Flyover (Temporary Road Closure) Birkenhead Order 2026

The effect of this order will be to close the Borough Road Flyover A5227, Birkenhead from its junction with the Wilbraham Street / Clifton Crescent / Borough Road roundabout to its junction with New Chester Road A41.

Alternate Route: A41 Chester Street, A554 Canning Street and Argyle Street A5030, Hamilton Square A552, Argyle Street A552 vice versa.

Maximum Duration of the order: From 20 July 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14 August 2026.

IN THE PENSBY AREA 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and all other enabling powers to enable works on or near the roads specified in the proposed order to take place.

The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.

Kylemore Drive (Temporary Road Closure) Pensby Order 2026

The effect of this order will be to close Kylemore Drive, Pensby from a point 30 metres west from its junction with Alexander Drive for a distance of 30 metres in a westerly direction to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.

Alternative Route: Irby Road, Pensby Road, Kylemore Drive.

Maximum Duration of the order: From 22 July 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31 July 2026.

IN THE WEST KIRBY AREA 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and all other enabling powers to enable works on or near the roads specified in the proposed order to take place.

The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.

Kirby Park (Temporary Road Closure) West Kirby Order 2026

The effect of this order will be to close Kirby Park, West Kirby from its junction with Caldy Road to its junction with Kirby Close to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.

Alternative Route: Caldy Road, Village Road, Devonshire Road, Kirby Park.

Maximum Duration of the order: From 27 July 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 August 2026.

Irby Road (Temporary Road Closure) Pensby Order 2026

The effect of this order will be to close Irby Road, Pensby from its junction with Thingwall Road to its junction with Townshend Avenue to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.

Alternative Route: Thingwall Road, Wales Avenue, Pensby Road, Fishers Lane.

Maximum Duration of the order: From 20 July 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 01 September 2026.
