(Hyde’s Lane, Cold Ashton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Hyde’s Lane which extends from a point 175m north east of Slough Lane north eastwards for 175m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with electrical cabling works. 

The order became operative from 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks duration. 

Alternative route: High Street, A420 and vice versa.

(New Street, Charfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of New Street which extends from Swinhay Lane southwards for 430m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new ducting installation works to connect chamber to poles. 

The order became operative from 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration. 

Alternative route: Swinhay Lane, New Street, B4058, Wotton Road and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Public Footpath LIA/35/10 which extends from LWE/PER/1 north westwards for 30m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon flood resilience works. 

The order became operative from 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of six months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 months duration. 

Alternative route: Following diversion around site boundary.

(Page Road, Staple Hill) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers and pedal cycles that length of Page Road which extends from Upper Station Road southwards thence eastwards for 98m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon groundworks and resurfacing works on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order became operative from 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration. 

Alternative route: Page Road (parts unaffected), High Street, Soundwell Road and vice versa.

(Coldharbour Lane, Stoke Gifford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Coldharbour Lane which extends from A4174 to the Bristol Business Park roundabout. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works. 

The order became operative from 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration, between 8pm and 6am. 

Alternative route: A4174, B4058, Stoke Lane, Coldharbour Lane (part unaffected) and vice versa.

(Pearces Hill, Frenchay) (No.2) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Pearces Hill which extends from a point 120m west of Frenchay Hill north westwards for 35m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon duct laying works on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order became operative from 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. 

Alternative route: Pearces Hill (parts unaffected), Beckspool Road, Frenchay Hill and vice versa.

(York Road, Staple Hill) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of York Road which extends from Broad Street southwards for 40m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon blockage clearing works on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order became operative from 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. No alternative route available.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Highfields which extends from a point 170m north west of Birgage Road westwards for 20m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon telecom chamber building works on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order became operative from 14 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration, between 8am and 6pm. No alternative route available: Access to be maintained.

(Chapel Lane, Old Sodbury) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Chapel Lane which extends from Catchpot Lane to Mill Lane. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order became operative from 16 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration. 

Alternative route: Chapel Lane (parts unaffected), Badminton Road, Catchpot Lane and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Little Sodbury End Lane which extends from a point 315m south east of Horton Road eastwards for 25m.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with duct laying works. 

The order will be operative from 3 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:- 
a) close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the length of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) suspend, temporarily, when the signs are covered, the South Gloucestershire Council (Church Road, Cranleigh Court Road and Station Road, Yate) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2009 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice to facilitate the alternative route for heavy vehicles. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon resurfacing works on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order will be operative from 3 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The measures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration, between 8pm and 6am.

SCHEDULE 1 Iron Acton Way – that length which extends from Yate Road to Churchward Road.

SCHEDULE 2 Station Road, Yate – that length which extends from Longs Drive to Westerleigh Road. 

Alternative route: Yate Road, Station Road, Goose Green Way and vice versa. 

For pedestrians: Armstrong Way, Churchward Road and vice versa.

(Mill Lane, Old Sodbury) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Mill Lane which extends from a point 1067m west of Chapel Lane south westwards for 330m. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 4 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration, between 8am and 5pm. No alternative route available: No through road.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Footpath Beaconlea to Court Road (KW/40/10) which extends from Court Road westwards for 65m. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon duct laying works. The order will be operative from 4 August 2026 for a maximum period of six months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Court Road, Mount Hill Road, Quarry Road, Beaconlea and vice versa.

(Folly Brook Road, Emersons Green and A4174 Avon Ring Road, Downend)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with footbridge structural inspection works. The order will be operative from 6 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between 8pm and 6am. 

SCHEDULE Folly Brook
Road – that length which extends from The Brooms to Avon Ring Road Badminton Road Roundabout to Westerleigh Road Roundabout. Avon Ring Road Badminton Road Roundabout to Westerleigh Road Roundabout – that length which extends from Folly Brook Road southwards for 24m. Alternative route: Folly Brook Road, Westerleigh Road, A4174.

(Prohibition of Waiting) Order 202(-)

Details of the proposed changes
NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles waiting at any time in lengths of Edward Road, Orchard Road, Summit Close and Woodland Terrace, Kingswood. 

Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods; delivering postal packets; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles displaying a disabled person’s badge.

Construction of Road Humps – Scott Way, Yate
Details of the proposed changes
NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter called ‘the Act’) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with section 90C(1) of the Act and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter called ‘the Regulations’) and in accordance with section 90C(2) of the Act intends to construct road humps in the form of speed tables at the locations specified in the Schedule to this Notice. 

The road humps will extend over the full width of the carriageway and be 9.65 metres in length and 75mm in maximum height, subject to the tolerances permitted in the Regulations. All distances and measurements are approximate and subject to construction tolerance. 

SCHEDULE Scott Way – centred at a point 122m north of its roundabout junction with Rodford Way; Scott Way – centred at a point 50m south of its junction with Hudson Close.
