Bracks Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To Sewer Repair Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Bracks Road, Bishop Auckland) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
The Council on 3/7/2026 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road. A 22 metre length of Bracks Road, Bishop Auckland from the front of No. 4 Bracks Road, at the northern side of the closure, in a southerly direction to the junction with A688 to enable sewer repair works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure, any diversion to vehicular traffic will be signposted on site. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works commenced under 5-day Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice on 30/6/2026, they now require extending from 8am on 4/7/2026 for approximately 7 days. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
