What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A1120 VARIOUS ROADS, STOWUPLAND, CREETING ST PETER AND STOWMARKET

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

Phase 1

• the A1120 Needham Road to Cedars Park Roundabout, Creeting St Peter southbound

• the A1120 Needham Road to Cedars Park Roundabout, Stowmarket southbound

Phase 2

• the A1120 Needham Road to Cedars Park Roundabout, Stowmarket northbound

• the A1120 Needham Road to Cedars Park Roundabout, Creeting St Peter northbound

Phase 3

• the A1120 From Cedars Roundabout to Church Road, Stowupland north from Gun Cotton Way to the junction with the A14 junction 50 Roundabout

Phase 4

• the A1120 From Cedars Roundabout to Church Road, Stowupland south from the junction with the A14 Junction 50 Roundabout to Gun Cotton Way.

This is to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

• (for phases 1 and 4) the A14, the A1308, the A1120 and no vice versa

• (for phases 2 and 3) the A1120, the A1308, the A14 and no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:

1. 8pm on 08/07/2026 - 5am on 09/07/2026

2, 09/07/2026 - 11/07/2026 from 8pm - 5am

3. 8pm on 13/07/2026 - 5am on 14/07/2026

4, 14/07/2026 - 16/07/2026 from 8pm - 5am.

There will be a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C469 BOTTLE BRIDGE ROAD, RAYDON ROAD, WENHAM ROAD AND ACACIA ROAD, WENHAM PARVA, WENHAM MAGNA AND RAYDON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the:

• C469 Bottle Bridge Road, Wenham Parva from Raydon Road, Wenham Magna for 678 metres northbound.

• C469 Raydon Road, Wenham Magna from Woodlands Road to Days Road, Capel St Mary.

• C469 Wenham Road, Wenham Magna from Days Road, Capel St Mary to Wenham Lane, Wenham Magna.

• C469 Acacia Road, Wenham Magna from Wenham Lane, Wenham Magna to Raydon Footpath 27, Raydon.

• C469 Acacia Road, Raydon from Road south east from B1070, Holton St Mary to Raydon Footpath 27, Raydon.

This is to facilitate surface dressing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1070, Woodlands Road Raydon, Raydon Road, Clay Hill Hintlesham, The Street, Washbrook Road Chattisham, Chattisham Road, Hollow Road, Wenham Road Capdock and Washbrook, Bottle Bridge Road Wenham Parva and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 08/07/2026 - 10/07/2026 from 8am - 5pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C314 BLACKSMITHS ROAD, HASKETON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C314 Blacksmiths Road, Hasketon from outside the Forge for 30 metres, Eastbound to facilitate remedial works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Church Road, Riverside, Pinners Lane, B1079, Manor Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 08/07/2026 - 09/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6422 BARDWELL ROAD AND CLINT HILL, FAKENHAM MAGNA

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the:

• U6422 Bardwell Road, Fakenham Magna

• U6422 Clint Hill, Fakenham Magna from Bardwell Road to Coney Weston Road.

This is to facilitate the installation of new hazard marker posts and repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Coney Weston Road, Bardwell Road, Sapiston Road, Fakenham Hill, Thetford Road, the A1088, and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 17/07/2026 from 8am - 5pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1078 IPSWICH ROAD, CHARSFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1078 Ipswich Road, Charsfield from 5 metres west of the junction with Church Road for 140 metres westbound to facilitate the removal of tree branches from power cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The B1078, the B1079, the B1077, the A1120, the B1119, the B1116, the B1078 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 08/07/2026 - 09/07/2026 from 9.30am - 3pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISHES OF COPDOCK AND WASHBROOK) (VARIOUS ROADS) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order for the Parishes of Copdock and Washbrook under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to introduce:

A 20mph speed limit to:

• Elm Lane (C466), from its junction with the C695 London Road in a generally north westerly direction to a point 40m northwest of the junction with C467 Back Lane, a distance of approximately 472m;

• Wenham Road (C468), from its junction with the C467 Elm Lane in a south westerly direction for a distance of 15m;

• Back Lane (C467), its entire length, from its junction with The Street to its junction with Elm Lane for a total length of approximately 797m;

• Charlotte’s (U4329), for its entire length, from its junction with Back Lane, to the turning head at the end of Charlotte’s, a distance of approximately 171m;

• Dale View (U4329), for its entire length, from its junction with Fen View to the turning head at the end, for a total distance of approximately 90m;

• Fen View (U4329) for its entire length, from its junction with Back Lane, in a northeast direction and around the small green and side road for a total approximate distance of 377m;

• Pearsons Way (U4301), for its entire length, from its junction with The Street, southeast for its entire length, including adjoining closes of the same name;

• Pheasant Rise (U4301), for its entire length, from its junction with The Street to the turning head at the end of the road for a total length of approximately 193m;

• The Street (U4301), for its entire length, from its junction with Chapel Lane, southwest for a length of approximately 732m, to the turning head.

Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the Council’s reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Capel St Mary Library, Village Hall, The Street, Capel St Mary IP9 2EF; Monday: Closed, Tuesday: 9am - 12.30pm, 2pm - 5.30pm Wednesday: 9am - 12.30pm; Thursday: 9am - 12.30pm; Friday: 2pm - 5.30pm; Saturday: 9am - 3pm; Sunday: 10am - 3pm.

Objections and any other representations relating to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must reach Suffolk County Council Legal Services at the address below or at rrhea.philip@suffolk.gov.uk no later than 28/07/2026.
