What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Alexander Lane/Oliver Road, Shenfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Alexander Lane, Shenfield in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 75m north of its junction with Shenfield Gardens for a distance of approximately 75m in a north easterly direction.

2. To temporarily close that length of Oliver Road, Shenfield in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Alexander Lane for a distance of 20m in a north easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2026 for 26 days, or where stated on a valid permit (R5001AEN169/TRI/X990-02/R5001AEN169/TRI/X990-03 – Advanced Electricity Networks Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Advanced Electricity Networks Limited.

An alternative route is available via Rayleigh Road, Hutton Road, Chelmsford Road and vice versa (with access only into Alexander Lane and Oliver Road).

The Order will come into effect on 15th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Fryerning Lane, Ingatestone) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fryerning Lane, Ingatestone in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Haslers Court a distance of approximately 40m. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2406247 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bollard installation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Pemberton Avenue, The Furlongs, High Street and vice versa (with access only into Fryerning Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 15th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Little Highwood Way, Brentwood) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little Highwood Way, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Henman Way to its junction with Cleves Avenue, a distance of approximately 35m. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (MU11301155290-00000002 – Thames Water Utilities). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cover replacement works are undertaken by Thames Water Utilities.
No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 15th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Alexander Lane, Shenfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Alexander Lane, Shenfield in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Oliver Road for a distance of approximately 225m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026 for 40 days, or where stated on a valid permit (R5001AEN169/TRI/X990 – Advanced Electricity Networks Limited). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection works are undertaken by Advanced Electricity Networks Limited.

An alternative route is available via Oliver Road, Chelmsford Road, Alexander Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 1st July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Kings Road/Primrose Hill, Brentwood) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Kings Road, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 45m north west of its junction with Queens Road for a distance of approximately 105m in a north westerly direction.

2.To temporarily close that length of Primrose Hill, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Kings Road for a distance of approximately 10m in a north easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (TV001217256_EX-25-014/TV001UKPD217256-EX2501 – Uk Power Distribution Ltd). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Uk Power Distribution Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Kings Road, High Street, Ingrave Road, Queens Road, Coptfold Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 1st July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
