Wrexham County Borough - Temporary Road Closure due to Water Main Upgrade Works

Mae Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Wrecsam yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn Rheoli Traffig Dros Dro dan Adran 14(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 O 20/07/2026 i wahardd unrhyw gerbyd rhag defnyddio'r darn hwnnw o'r A528 o Bont Owrtyn i Bentref Owrtyn i alluogi Heartlands Ltd ar ran Severn Trent Water i uwchraddio'r prif gyflenwad dwr yn y ffordd gerbydau a'r troedffyrdd. Bydd y gwaith yn digwydd mewn sawl cam ar hyd yr adrannau canlynol:

  • Yr A528 o Lôn Asney i'r A539, Erbistog

  • Yr A528 o Lôn Argoed i Lôn Asney, Owrtyn

Rydym yn croesawu gohebiaeth yn Gymraeg. Byddwn yn ymateb i unrhyw ohebiaeth yn Gymraeg ac ni fydd hyn yn arwain at unrhyw oedi.

Wrexham County Borough Council intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 effective from 20/07/2026 prohibiting all vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of A528 from Overton Bridge to Overton Village to enable Heartlands Ltd on behalf of Severn Trent Water to upgrade the water mains in the carriageway and footways. The works will take place in multiple phases along the following sections:

  • A528 from Asney Lane to A539, Erbistock

  • A528 from Argoed Lane to Asney Lane, Overton

  • A528 Wrexham Road, Overton

  • A528 High Street, Overton

  • A528 Penyllan Street, Overton

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via A528 from Overton Bridge to B5426 Straight Mile, A528 Overton Road, A525 Bangor Road through Marchwiel and Cross Lanes, A525 Whitchurch Road, and A539 from Eglwys Cross through Penley to Overton Village, which will be signposted accordingly. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the period of closure. The closures will be implemented in phases and will not all be in force for the full duration of the Order. The timing and extent of each phase of the works will be determined by the contractor as works progress and will be indicated on site by the placement of appropriate traffic management signage. The prohibition is expected to be in force for a period of 30 days, or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
