What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF MILL LANE, SEATON ROSS
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of
Mill Lane, Seaton Ross from its junction with North
Street/Breckstreet Lane northbound for approximately
200 metres commencing 27 July 2026 at 08.00 hours
until 31 July 2026 at 17.00 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
part of Mill Lane, Seaton Ross installation of a new
water supply connection and excavation works, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within five days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Mill Lane, North End, Church Lane, South End,
Southfield Lane, A163 road from Foss Dyke to Major
Bridge, A163 Selby Road, A163 High Street, A614 New
Road, A614 Market Weighton Road, Harswell Lane,
Bull Lane, Southfield Lane, Main Street, Common Lane
and Everingham Road, Seaton Ross CP,
Holme Upon Spalding Moor CP, Everingham CP,
Howdenshire Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all traffic but access will
be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians. The Order will commence 27 July 2026
and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
