Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
(i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
BULL CLOSE ROAD (EASTBOUND LANE ONLY) – from its junction with Charlton Road to its junction with Silver Road to facilitate water mains fitting works from 13th to 15th July 2026 (may continue until 26th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Charlton Road, Barrack Street, Silver Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
NEWMARKET ROAD SLIP ROAD OPPOSITE 9 BLUEBELL ROAD TO EAST OF 219 NEWMARKET ROAD – from its junction with Bluebell Road to its junction with Newmarket Road to facilitate electrical service installation works between 19:00 and 06:00 from 13th to 17th July 2026 (may continue until 28th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Southbound on Bluebell Road: Bluebell Road, Eaton Street, Cringleford Bridge, Newmarket Road, Newmarket Road Slip, A11 Newmarket Road, Newmarket Road/Round House Way Roundabout, Newmarket Road; Northbound on Bluebell Road: Bluebell Road, Earlham Road, Colman Road, Mile End Road, Newmarket Road (Norwich, Cringleford). The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
(ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
HALF MILE ROAD – from its junction with Aylsham Road for 50m westwards to facilitate sewer repair works from 6th to 7th July 2026 (may continue until 18th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Aylsham Road, Mile Cross Road, Half Mile Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/ footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle tracks, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
