What is happening?

THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

(NORWICH, HALL ROAD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 202X AND ROAD HUMPS NOTICE 2026

The Norfolk County Council propose to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The Norfolk County Council (Norwich, Hall Road) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 202X

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Extend the prohibition of waiting restriction at any time along the C820 Hall Road by 14.5m meaning that the new length of road subject to the restriction will be:

Road Description
C820 Hall Road From a point 16 metres north of its junction with Hartford Street in a southerly direction to a point 14 metres southwards.

2. As a result of extending the prohibition of waiting at any time restriction, the following parking bay will be removed:

Waiting limited to 30 minutes - 8.00am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday with no return within 30 minutes

Hall Road (West Side) From a point 6m south of the centre line of Hartford Street in a southerly direction to a point 28m south of that centre line.

Road Humps Notice 2026

As required under Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 notice is hereby given that Norfolk County Council propose to install road humps under Section 90(A) of the Highways Act 1980 at the following locations:

Road Description
C820 Hall Road From a point 23 metres south of the centre line of its junction with U42801 Abbott Road southwards for a distance of 3.7 metres.
From a point 21 metres south of the centre line of its junction with U42838 Latimer Road southwards for a distance of 3.7 metres.
From a point 60 metres north of the centre line of its junction with U42838 Latimer Road northwards for a distance of 3.7 metres.
From a point 15 metres North of the centre line of its junction with U42812 Cecil Road northwards for a distance of 3.7 metres.
From a point 18 metres south of the centre line of its junction with C819 Mansfield Lane southwards for a distance of 3.7 metres.
From a point 9 metres south of the centre line of its junction with U45320 Ingram Court southwards for a distance of 3.7 metres.

The road humps (each being a maximum of 75mm in height, 5.5 metres in width, and 3.7 metres in length) are designed to provide a safer environment for pedestrians and those who cycle.

A copy of the draft Order, the Order being varied, plans and a Statement of Reasons for making the Order can be viewed online at www.norfolk.citizenspace.com. Copies are also available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DH and at the offices of Norwich City Council, City Hall, St Peters Street, Norwich, NR2 1NH during normal office hours. Online viewing is recommended.

Any objections and representations relating to the proposed Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. Comments may also be made on the proposed road humps. All correspondence for this proposal must be received at the office of Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH, marked for the attention of the nplaw Traffic Regulation Order Team by 28th July 2026. They may also be emailed to trafficorders@norfolk.gov.uk.
