DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES AND CLEARWAY) ORDER 2026

EGGLESTON VIEW AND DENESIDE ROAD DARLINGTON

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

  1. No stopping at any time (clearway); and
  2. The prohibition of the driving of vehicles on:

EGGLESTON VIEW

Phase 1 – from its junction with Newton Lane westwards to the east side of Rosedale Crescent junction

Phase 2 - from the east side of Rosedale Crescent junction westwards to the east side of Bylands Way junction

An alternative route will be signed via Whitby Way, Newton Lane and vice versa.

It is anticipated that this will be effective from 17th August for 12 days.

DENESIDE ROAD – Entirely

An alternative route will be signed via Willow Road, West Auckland Road, Woodland Road and vice versa.

It is anticipated that this will be effective from 24th August for 12 days.

The Order is necessary to allow road surfacing works.

The maximum duration of the temporary restrictions under this Order is 18 months commencing from 17th August 2026.
