Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U1210 CASTLE CARROCK, U1018 NEAR CATLOWDY, C2050 WAVERTON AND U1207 FOREST HEAD, NEAR TALKIN) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U1210 Castle Carrock, from its junction with the entrance to the property known as Garth Head, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 190m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: From 23 July 2026 for approx. 13 days (Ref: TTROC/I/8846)
2. U1018 Shaw’s Hill, near Catlowdy, from a point approx. 440 metres south of the property known as Holywell Manse, extending in an overall south westerly direction for approx. 120m
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1018, Shaw’s Hill, C1006, C1007 and B6318.
Duration: From 4 August 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/I/9078)
3. C2050 Waverton, from a point approx. 460 metres southeast of its junction with the A596, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 60m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2050, A596, B5302, West Road, Wigton, B5305 High Street and B5304 South End, Wigton and A595 Red Dial.
Duration: From 5 August 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/I/9080)
4. U1207 Forest Head, near Talkin, from a point adjacent to the property known as Curdiff, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 240m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1207, U1208 and C1031.
Duration: From 26 August 2026 for approx. 1 day between 0800 and 1600 hours (Ref: TTROC/I/9136)
