What is happening?

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUNCIL

B4009 LONGWICK TOUCAN CROSSING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Buckinghamshire Council proposes to install a signal-controlled toucan crossing under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and to convert sections of footway to shared use under Section 65 of the Highways Act 1980.

The proposals on Longwick are listed below:

Road Name (and Extents) Proposal
B4009 Lower Icknield Way – On the north-eastern arm of the Sportsman Roundabout, approximately 12m northeast of the existing informal crossing Signal-Controlled Toucan Crossing
A4129 Longwick Road – From the existing dropped kerb on Longwick Road, extending in a northwesterly direction towards the roundabout up to the informal crossing (along the northern footway for approximately 47m) Conversion of existing footway into shared use pedestrian and cycle facility
A4129 Thame Road – From the existing ‘Thame Road’ nameplate, extending in a northeasterly direction towards the roundabout up to the informal crossing (along the northern footway for approximately 33 m) Conversion of existing footway into shared use pedestrian and cycle facility
B4009 Lower Icknield Way – Along both side footways of the B4009, from the informal crossing to the proposed signalcontrolled toucan crossing, for a length of approximately 20 m New Shared Use pedestrian and cycle facility

A copy of the plan showing the length of roads affected, together with a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the conversion may be inspected Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm at Buckinghamshire Council, Council Access Plus, Walton Street, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP20 1UA.
