What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (CAVENDISH STREET, ULVERSTON AND REAR OF ADELAIDE STREET, BARROW-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of;

Cavendish Street, Ulverston, from its junction with Queen Street, extending in a easterly direction for approx. 100 metres.

Alternative Route: via County Square, New Market Street, Market Street and Queen Street (B5281).

Duration: From 20th July 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/19416)

Rear of Adelaide Street, Barrow-in-Furness, from its junction with Bath Street, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 35 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the Rear of Adelaide Street, Hartington Street, Adelaide Street and Bath Street.

Duration: From 4th August 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/19622)

The Order will come into operation on 20th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
