PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order was made on 26th June 2026, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The order will divert public footpath Westham 24 from TQ 6242 0379 running in a generally south-easterly direction for 207 metres to TQ 6262 0375 (A-B on the order map), then in a generally easterly direction for 122 metres to TQ 6274 0376 (B-C on the order map); to a new route having a width of 3 metres and running from TQ 6242 0379 in a south south-easterly for 77 metres to TQ 6250 0378 (A-D on the order map), then in a generally north-easterly direction for 85 metres to TQ 6258 0380 (D-E on the order map), then a generally south-easterly direction for 84 metres to TQ 6266 0378 (E-F on the order map), then a generally south-easterly direction for 86 metres TQ 6274 0376 (E-F on the order map).
A copy of the Order and Order Map and an explanatory statement have been deposited and can be inspected free of charge Main Reception County Council County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes Mondays to Fridays between 9.00am and 4.00pm and at Wealden District Council’s Offices, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham BN27 2AX, during office opening times. Copies of the Order may also be purchased from the County Council (price £1.00).
Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to Rights of Way & Access Team, East Sussex County Council, West B, County Hall, Lewes, BN7 1UE, or via email row.consultations@eastsussex.gov.uk, no later than 31st July 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made and quote reference RWO/DIV/ WESTHAM24/MH.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the East Sussex County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
