BRIDGEND COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2024 AMENDMENT ORDER No. 5 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bridgend County Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) as the Highway Authority for Porthcawl, have made the following Order in exercise of their powers under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (2), 4, 32, 35,124(1) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act of 1984), as amended, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police and in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 the effect of which is to amend the following restrictions in the BRIDGEND COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2024, as amended, (“the Consolidation Order”) by the revocation of the Order Plans: H69, H70, I70, I71, I72 and I73 dated 29.11.2024 and the insertion of the revised Order Plans: H69 Rev 1, H70 Rev 1, I70 Rev 1, I71 Rev 1, I72 Rev 1 and I73 Rev 1, the effect of which will be as set out in Schedule 1 and schedule 2 below.
A copy of the deposited documents including the Order, Plans and Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order are available by contacting either traffictransportation@bridgend.gov.uk/ or by telephone via the Customer Service Centre Tel: 01656 646363 (please quote reference TRA001-1706) or from Civic Reception at the address given below during office hours or may be inspected online at: https://www.bridgend.gov.uk/council/legal-notices-and-orders/ or alternatively from Porthcawl Library, Church Place, Porthcawl, CF36 3AG between the following hours: Monday 9.30am - 1pm and 2pm - 6pm, Tuesday 9.30am -1pm and 2pm -6pm, Wednesday 9.30am -1pm, Thursday 9.30am -1pm and 2pm -8pm, Friday 9.30am -1pm and 2pm -5pm, Saturday 9.30am -1pm and 2pm -5pm. The order was made on the 01/07/2026 and will come into force on the 17/07/2026.
If any person wishes to question the validity of any Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

SCHEDULE 1 - REVOCATION 1. REVOCATION OF 24 CLEARWAY RESTRICTION (NO-STOPPING) on the following lengths of roads and sides of lengths of roads (i)Rest Bay Access Road from its junction with Mallard Way, to its junction with ‘The Rest’, including the access and egress roads to the Rest Bay Car Park a distance of approximately 920m (1006yds).
2.REVOCATION OF DISABLED PERSONS PARKING BAY on the following lengths of roads and sides of lengths of roads
(i) Rest Bay Access Road on its western side, from a point 636m (696yds) north of its junction with Mallard Way for a distance of 45m (49yds).
SCHEDULE 2
1. INTRODUCTION OF PROHIBITION OF WAITING LOADING AN UNLOADING AT ANY TIME RESTRICTION on the following lengths of roads and sides of lengths of roads
(i)Rest Bay Access Road on its western side, from its junction with Mallard Way for a distance of approximately 636m (696yds). (ii) Rest Bay Access Road on its western side, from a point approximately 681m (yds) north of its junction with Mallard Way, to the entrance of ‘The Rest’ a distance of approximately 285m (312yds). (iii) Rest Bay Access Road on its eastern side, from the entrance to ‘The Rest’ to the northern side of the Rest Bay car park access road a distance of approximately 172m (188yds). (iv) Rest Bay Access Road on its eastern side, from the southern side of the junction with the Rest Bay car park access road southwards for a distance of approximately 85m (93yds). (v) Rest Bay Access Road on its eastern side, from its junction with Mallard Way northwards for a distance of approximately 635m (694yds).(vi) Rest Bay Access Road around the entire inner Kerb of the one way triangle, situated near the entrance to the golf club and ‘The Rest’ a distance of approximately 125m (137yds). (vii) Rest Bay Car Park Access Road on both sides of the road, from its junction with Rest Bay Access Road for a distance of approximately 105m (115yds).
2.DISABLED PERSONS PARKING BAY- 4 HOURS MAXIMUM STAY, NO RETURN WITHIN 2 HOURS on the following lengths of roads and sides of lengths of roads
(i)Rest Bay Access Road on its western side, from a point 636m (696yds) north of its junction with Mallard Way for a distance of 45m (49yds).
