WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (U6096, ASKAM-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U6096, Askam-in-Furness, from its junction with Moor Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1.3 kilometres.
There is no suitable alternative route available for all traffic.

The Order will come into operation on 21st July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 6 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
