What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND AREA)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.13) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 24 July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as stated in the schedule, and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U2028, Near Abbeytown – From 24 July 2026 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTROC/18414)

From its junction with the B5302, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 720m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2028, C2015, and B5302.

2. U2030 and C2015, Near Silloth – From 24 July 2026 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTROC/18635)

(i) U2030 from its junction with the C2015 to its junction with the U2029; and

(ii) C2015 from its junction with the U2030 to its junction with the U2042.

Alternative Routes:

(i) via the unrestricted section of the C2015 and U2029; and/or

(ii) via the unrestricted sections of the C2015, B5302, Petteril Street, Criffel Street, Ellen Street, B5300 and B5301.

3. U2128 and U2121 Branthwaite, near Caldbeck – From 31 July 2026 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTROC/18847)

(i) U2121 from its junction with the U2128 extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 500m; and

(ii) U2128 from its junction with the U2121 to its junction with the B5299.

Alternative route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2121, U2150, and B5299.

4. C2012, Abbeytown – From 27 July 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/18924)

From its junction with B5302 extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 650m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2012, C2014, C2013, C2017, and B5302.

5. U2040 Salta – From 27 July 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/18931)

From its junction with the C2013, extending in an overall north easterly direction for approx. 550m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

6. U1104, Near Brampton – From 28 July 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/18932)

From its junction with the A6071, extending in an overall south westerly direction for approx. 510m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

7. C2018, Edderside – From 29 July 2026 for approx. 10 days (Ref:TTROC/18900)

From its junction with the B5300 extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 2.4km.

Alternative Route: via the C2019, B5301, C2013, Mawbray and B5300.

8. U2134 Thornwaite – From 29 July 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/18947)

From its junction with the U2133, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 230m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2134, U2135, C2020, and U2133.

9. C2010, Bromfield – From 31 July 2026 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTROC/18919)

From its junction with the U2072, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 2.1km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2010, C2046, A596, C2002, and C2009 Langrigg.

10. U2025, Abbeytown – From 31 July 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/18950)

From its junction with the B5302 Main Street, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.3km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2025, U2026, B5302, and Main Street.

11. U2133 Near Brisco – From 31 July 2026 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTROC/18998)

From its junction with the A689 extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 140m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

12. U145 Stockdalewath – From 3 August 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/18951)

From its junction with the C2018, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 500m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1145, U1143, and C2018.

13. U1193, Sandy Lane, Corby – From 3 August 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/19017)

From its junction with Clints Road, extending in an overall north easterly direction for approx. 460m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
