What is happening?

(i) The City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Waiting Restrictions and On Street Parking Places) Order 2026 (Waverdale Avenue Area Variation TROST24) Order 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which would be to vary the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Waiting Restrictions and On Street Parking Places) Order 2026 ("the 2026 Order").
2. The effect of the proposed variation Order is to introduce no waiting at any time restrictions (double yellow lines) at -
(a) the junction of Ennerdale Road and Weardale Avenue, and
(b) on a section of Waverdale Avenue (at the entrance to Walker Riverside Academy).
(ii) Proposed Construction of Road Humps - Waverdale Avenue
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne in exercise of its powers under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 proposes to construct road humps complying with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 in Waverdale Avenue.
2. The details of the road humps are as follows - Nature - Speed cushions Locations (to the centre of the speed cushions) - Waverdale Avenue -
(i) 59 metres north of its junction with Welbeck Road (x3 cushions)
(ii) 128 metres north of its junction with Welbeck Road (northbound lane) (x1 cushion)
(iii) 139 metres north of its junction with Welbeck Road (nouthbound lane) (x1 cushion)
(iv) 75 metres south of its junction with Ennerdale Road (x3 cushions)
(v) 15 metres south of its junction with Ennerdale Road (northbound lane) (x1 cushion)
(vi) 9 metres south of its junction with Ennerdale Road (nouthbound lane) (x1 cushion)
(vii) 70 metres north of its junction with Ennerdale Road (x2 cushions)
(viii) 133 metres north of its junction with Ennerdale Road (x2 cushions)
(ix) 188 metres south of its junction with Wyedale Way (x3 cushions)
(x) 100 metres south of its junction with Wyedale Way (x3 cushions)
(xi) 12 metres south of its junction with Wyedale Way (x3 cushions)
Dimensions of Cushions -
Length along the carriageway to be 3.6 metres Width to be 1700 mm
Height to be a maximum of 85mm
Ramp gradients to be 1 in 10 Side ramp to be 1 in 6
