What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VICTORIA ROAD, PLYMOUTH STREET AND HARTINGTON STREET, BARROW-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME TRAFFIC RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway improvements work, to facilitate the installation of EV charging points to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along the following sections of road in Barrow-In-Furness:

1. (i) Victoria Road (north east side), from a point with approx. 20 metres south east of its junction with Warwick Street, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 10 metres.

(ii) Victoria Road, Barrow-In-Furness (south west side) from a point approx. 25 metres south east of its junction with Warwick Street, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 5 metres.

Duration: From 20th July 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTRO/W/19352)

2. Plymouth Street, Walney Island (south east side), from a point approx. 10 metres south west of its junction with the Amphitrite Street, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 30 metres.

Duration: From 20th July 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTRO/W/19353)

3. (i) Hartington Street (south west side), from a point approx. 10 metres north west of its junction Blake Street, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 5 metres.

(ii) Hartington Street (south west side), from a point approx. 30 metres north west of its junction with Blake Street, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 20 metres.

The Order will come into operation on 20th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
