What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ORSTON FOOTPATH NO.16 DIVERSION

On 3rd July 2026 the Nottinghamshire County Council confirmed the above order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the public right of way commencing from point A at SK 7686 4079 at the junction with Orston Footpath No.16 and proceeding for a distance for approximately 25 metres in a generally west north-westerly direction over a paved surface to point B at grid reference SK 7685 4080 and the junction with the continuation of Orston Footpath No.16, shown on the Order Map and also provide for the consequential amendment of the Nottinghamshire Definitive map and Statement.

A copy of the Order as confirmed, and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at my Office at the address below between the hours of 9.00 am and 4.30 pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive 8th July 2026 to 19th August 2026.

Copies of the Order and Map may be purchased from my Office at the address below at a cost of £5.00 per copy.

This Order comes into force on 3 rd July 2026 but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act, as amended, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 8th July 2026, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
