TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
The Oldham Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along that part of Oldham Way Oldham (both carriageways) between the entry and exit slip roads to Manchester Street roundabout.
The alternative route will be via Manchester Street roundabout and slip roads. The alternative route for HGV vehicles will be Broadway, Shaw Road, Salmon Fields, Higginshaw Lane, Shaw Road and vice versa.
The Order is to be made to allow structural repair work to the Oldham Way viaduct and will be in force for 12 weeks from 18th July 2026, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
