What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(FOOTPATH 21, HAZEL GROVE AND BRAMHALL)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Closure of Footpath 21, Hazel Grove and Bramhall, for the section where barriers are in place, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath.
This Order is necessary to allow United Utilities to carry out works in the area.
It is estimated that the maximum duration of the works will be 6 months. A diversion will be provided via the footway on Ack Lane East to/from Bramhall Lane South.
This Order is to come into operation on the 23 July 2026 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: JO/16094708
