NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A4145 Hagden Lane, Watford from its junction with Queens Avenue south westwards for a distance of approximately 50m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A4145 (Hagden Lane/Vicarage Road), A4178 (Fearnley Street/The Hornets/Merton Road/Cassio Road), A412 Rickmansworth Road, Hagden Lane and A4145 Hagden Lane or via A4145 Hagden Lane, Hagden Lane, A412 (Rickmansworth Road/St Albans Road), the A411 Beechen Grove roundabout, A412 (St Albans Road/Rickmansworth Road), A4178 (Cassio Road/Merton Road/Wiggenhall Road/Farline Road), A4145 (Vicarage Road/Hagden Lane).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURN MOVEMENTS FROM WATER LANE INTO HIGH STREET, WATFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a left turn manoeuvre from Water Lane into High Street, Watford ("the Roads") whilst works are in progress.

An alternative route will be via High Street, King Street, A411 (Exchange Road/Beechen Grove) and High Street.

The Order is needed because utility works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 23 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B5378 Allum Lane, Elstree from its junction with Blatter Close south westwards to its junction with the access road leading to ‘Elstree Recycling Centre’, a distance of approximately 236m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B5378 (Allum Lane/Shenley Road), A5135 (Elstree Way/Rowley Lane), A41 Barnet Bypass, A411 Barnet Lane, A5183 (High Street/Elstree Hill North) and B5378 Allum Lane or via B5378 Allum Lane, A5183 (Elstree Hill North/High Street), A411 Barnet Lane, A41 Barnet Bypass, A5135 Elstree Way and B5378 (Shenley Lane/Allum Lane).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. That length of Langleybury Lane, Langleybury from its junction with Old House Lane south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Grove Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 1127m.

An alternative route will be via Old House Lane, Bucks Hill, Toms Hill, Chandlers Lane, Redhall Lane and Fir Tree Hill.

2. That length of Bourne End Road, Northwood from its junction with Westbury Road south eastwards to its junction with Batchworth Lane, a distance of approximately 430m.

An alternative route will be via Westbury Road, A4125 Sandy Lane and Batchworth Lane.

3. That length of Gallows Hill, Abbots Langley from its junction with Gallows Hill Lane south eastwards to its junction with Hamilton Road, a distance of approximately 476m.

An alternative route will be via Gallows Hill Lane, High Street, Tibbs Hill Road, Langley Lane, South Way, Hunton Bridge Hill and Hamilton Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 24 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A5183 Elstree Hill North, Elstree from its junction with B5378 Allum Lane southwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A5183 (Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street/Radlett Road/Frogmore/Park Street/Watling Street), A405 (North Orbital Road/St Albans Road/North Orbital Road), A412 St Albans Road, A41 (North Western Avenue/North Western Avenue Colne Way/Otterspool Way/Elton Way/Tylers Way/North Western Avenue (Watford Bypass)) and A5183 (Elstree Hill South/High Street/Elstree Hill North).

The Order is needed because gas main works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 6 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 4 weeks to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN WOODSIDE AND WATFORD) ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. That length of A41 North Western Avenue, Woodside and A41 (North Western Avenue Colne Way/Otterspool Way), Watford from its junction with the A41 The Dome roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the M1 (junction 5) Berrygrove roundabout, a distance of approximately 1920m.

An alternative route will be via A412 St Albans Road, A411 Beechen Grove and A4008 Stephenson Way

or via A4008 Stephenson Way, A411 (Beechen Grove/Exchange Road/Beechen Grove) and A412 St Albans Road.

2. That length of Woodmere Avenue, Watford from its junction with A41 North Western Avenue Colne Way south westwards to its junction with Douglas Avenue, a distance of approximately 89m.

An alternative route will be via A41 (North Western Avenue Colne Way/North Western Avenue), A412 St Albans Road, Bushey Mill Lane and Woodmere Avenue.

3. That length of Westlea Avenue, Watford from its junction with A41 North Western Avenue Colne Way north eastwards to its junction with Meriden Way, a distance of approximately 87m.

An alternative route will be via A41 (North Western Avenue Colne Way/North Western Avenue), A412 St Albans Road, Garston Lane, The Gossamers, York Way and Meriden Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 6 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

An alternative route will be via A41 North Western Avenue (Watford Bypass) and A5183 (Elstree Hill South/High Street).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 9 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Milton Street, Watford from its junction with Parker Street north westwards to its junction with Shakespeare Street, a distance of approximately 145m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Parker Street, Leavesden Road and Shakespeare Street.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 6 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Capell Road/Capell Avenue, Rickmansworth from its junction with Capell Way south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Furze View, a distance of approximately 359m (“the length of Roads”).

An alternative route will be via Capell Way, Hubbards Road and Furze View.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 6 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, COUNTY OF HERTFORDSHIRE) (REVOCATIONS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to amend various existing Orders in the County of Hertfordshire as specified in Schedule 1 and revoke Orders listed in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

LOCAL PUBLIC INQUIRY

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (SARRATT FOOTPATH 034, SARRATT) CYCLE TRACKS ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that a Local Public Inquiry is to be held into the above Order which has been submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation pursuant to section 3(1)(a) of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984.

The Inquiry will commence at 10.00am on 21 July and 22 July 2026 and will be held in Three Rivers District Council, Three Rivers House, Northway, Rickmansworth, WD3 1RL by an Independent Inspector appointed for the purpose by the Secretary of State for Transport to hear representations from objectors, the promoting authority and at their discretion, to hear representations from any other persons who may desire to appear and be heard.

The effect of the Order, if it were confirmed, would be to designate the following length of public footpath as a cycle track over which the public have a right of way on pedal cycles (other than pedal cycles which are motor vehicles) and a right of way on foot:-

Part of the part of Sarratt Footpath 034.

Any person interested in the subject matter may, as provided for in the above Regulations, appear at the Inquiry either in person or by counsel, solicitor or other representative. Whether or not he/she proposes to appear at the Inquiry, any person may send to the Inspector, prior to the Inquiry, such written representations as they may wish to make in relation to the subject matter at the Inquiry, with a view to their consideration by the Inspector.

This should be sent to the Inspector at the National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or at nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk, quoting reference NATTRAN/E/CYCLETRACK/109.
