(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Station Road, Tempsford for 20m either side of the level crossing.

This temporary closure is required to enable level crossing inspection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 0215hrs to 0555hrs on 26 July 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 26 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(SUNDERLAND ROAD, SANDY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sunderland Road, Sandy between St Neots Road and Berwick Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 27 to 29 July 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Ireland, Shefford near to The Black Horse Public House.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Old Warden outside number 149.

This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Warden Road, Ickwell near Rest Harrow.

This temporary closure is required to enable pole testing work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 13th July 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Caldecote Rd, Ickwell Rd, Hitchin Rd, Hill Lane, Upper Caldecote and vice versa.

EVERTON ROAD, TEMPSFORD AND EVERTON HILL, EVERTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Everton Road, Tempsford and Everton Hill, Everton 20 metres either side of the level crossing.

This temporary closure is required to enable annual inspection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 12 July 2026 between the hours of 02.15 and 05.55am The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Tempsford Road, Sandy Road, Everton Road, Swaden, High Street, Bedford Road, Great North Road, Blunham Lane, C54 from Blunham Lane to Station Road, Church Street and Everton Road.

The Order will come into operation on 12 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Stotfold between Hitchin Road and The Avenue.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils and resurfacing work with paco and lining to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 31 July 2026. Between the hours of 2000 and 0600hrs The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Hitchin Rd, A507, Norton Rd, Baldock Rd, High St and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTORDUCE NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON HIGH STREET AND CHAPEL DRIVE, ARLESEY

Reason for proposal: The purpose of this proposal is to improve safety for all road users and to reduce the likelihood of danger arising, as well as to facilitate the safe and efficient passage of traffic, including pedestrians. Specifically, the proposed waiting restrictions are intended to improve visibility for drivers at the junction of High Street and Chapel Drive.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Arlesey:-

1.  Chapel Drive, both sides, from the junction with High street and extending southeast for approximately 11 metres.

2.  High Street, west side, from a point approximately in line with the shared property boundary between No. 47 High Street and Arlesey Methodist Church and extending north-eastwards for approximately 29 metres.

Reason for proposal: The disabled parking bay is no longer required as it is not currently being used by an eligible resident. The removal of the bay will allow for more efficient use of the available on-street parking.

To revoke Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE DISABLED PARKING BAY ON SUNDERLAND ROAD, SANDY

Reason for proposal: A Road Safety Audit (RSA) identified concerns about uncontrolled parking near the new junction, which could affect visibility and create conflicts with vehicles entering/exiting. The proposed waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that the junction is not obstructed by parked vehicles. Please refer to the supporting Statement of Reasons for full details.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Sandy: -

1.  Sunderland Road, east side, from a point approximately 10 metres northwest of the northern kerbline of Darlington Close and extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 53 metres.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER  2026

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the lengths of:

I.   Footpath No. 36, Sandy which extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 36, Sandy and Bridleway No. 4, Sandy at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1534 5096 in a generally northnorth-easterly direction for approximately 1040 metres to its junction with Footpath No. 8, Blunham and the Sandy-Blunham parish boundary at OS GR TL 1571 5181.

II.  Footpath No. 8, Blunham which extends from its junction with Footpath No. 36, Sandy and the Sandy-Blunham parish boundary at OS GR TL 1571 5181 in a generally west-north-westerly direction for approximately 170 metres to its junction with Tempsford Road at OS GR TL 1557 5191.

This temporary closure is required as the surface of the footpath has narrowed due to erosion and the footpath is in danger of collapsing into the river. The closure is expected to take place from 7 July 2026 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.
