ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
IGNATIUS SANCHO ROAD (AMENDED LAYOUT) – WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS AND DISABLED BAYS (TEMPORARY MEASURES) [TT6(26)]
1. The Council of the Royal Borough of Greenwich hereby gives notice that, to enable access for emergency vehicles and Council vehicles, to carry out key services to protect the health and safety of the residents and avoid the likelihood of danger, and to ensure amenities for blue badge holders, it intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to provide disabled badge holders only parking places and waiting and loading restrictions in Ignatius Sancho Road.
2. The effect of the Order in Ignatius Sancho Road would be to:
(moving in a clockwise direction from its junction with Kidbrooke Park Road)
a) provide 2 numbers (nos.) of inset disabled badge holders only parking places: (south-east side)
i. immediately southwest of the eastern northwest to southeast arm (perpendicular bays), each measuring 3.6 metres (m) in width;
ii. from a point 8.55m southwest of the bays set out in paragraph 2.a).i., for 12.55m;
iii. from a point 5.45m southwest of the southwestern kerb line of the access way to the properties situated parallel to Kidbrooke Park Road, for 12.40m; and
iv. from a point 13.6m southwest of the western northwest to southeast arm, for 13.15m; (north-west side)
v. from a point 11.95m southwest of the southwestern kerb line of the access way to the properties situated parallel to Kidbrooke Park Road, for 12.55m;
vi. from a point 22.2m southwest of the bays set out in paragraph 2.a).v., for 12.65m;
vii. from a point 3.65m northeast of the southwestern wall of the property situated at the southern end of the west side of the development, for 12.55m; and
viii. from a point 21.45m northeast of the bays set out in paragraph 2.a).vii., for 12.55m;
b) (south-east side) provide a disabled badge holders only parking place immediately southwest of the western northwest to southeast arm, for 5.95m;
c) (south-west side of the western northwest to southeast arm) provide 3 nos. of disabled badge holders only parking places, measuring 19.15m in length in total;
d) (north-west side) provide a ‘Loading Only’ bay with a maximum stay of 30 mins and no return within 1 hour:
i. approximately opposite the disabled bays set out in paragraph 2.a).i., for 7m;
ii. from a point 7.5m northeast of the southernmost southwestern kerb line, for 6m northeastwardly; and
iii. opposite the disabled bays set out in paragraph 2.a).iv., for 10m;
e) (north-east side of southern northwest to southeast arm) adjacent to the southwestern wall of each property provide a 14m Loading Only place (x2 bays) with a maximum stay of 1 hour and no return within 2 hours;
f) introduce no waiting and loading ‘at any time’ restrictions in the remainder of the carriageway.
Note: the disabled badge holders only parking places referred to in this notice would operate ‘at all times’.
3. The Order would come into force on 15th July 2026 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months.
4. This Order would supersede the existing Order made on 11th June 2026, thereby revoking the provisions made as part of that Order.
5. Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency vehicles or service vehicles.
