The East Sussex (C706 Denbigh Road, Hooe)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow HW Martin (Traffic Management) Limited to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Denbigh Road – from The Red Lion to the junction with B2095 Top Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C706 Denbigh Road – B2095 Top Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:30hrs to 15:30hrs on 20 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Poppinghole Lane – from the junction with B2089 Hooks Beech to the junction with A21 Johns Cross Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A21(T) Johns Cross Road, Woodmans Green Road – B2089 Park Lane, Hooks Beech and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Alpine Road – from the junction with U3186 Priory Road to the junction with U3198 Plynlimmon Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3198 Plynlimmon Road – U3202 Gordon Road – U3186 Priory Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 20 July and 10 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Hughenden Road – from the junction with C215 Elphinstone Road to the junction with U3281 Hughenden Place.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3280 Hughenden Road – C457 Mount Pleasant Road – C215 Elphinstone Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 22 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 22 and 23 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Castle Road – from the junction with B2244 Junction Road to the junction with C19 Castle Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C19 Castle Hill, Bodiam Road, Rock Hill, Bodiam Road – B2165 Cripps Corner Road – B2244 Junction Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23 and 27 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 No.2

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Little Ridge Avenue – from the junction with U3016 Harrow Lane to the junction with U3008 Hillside Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3008 Hillside Road  – B2093 The Ridge, Conquest roundabout, The Ridge – U3016 Harrow Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23 July and 11 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Cinque Ports Street – from the junction with A268 Ferry Road to the junction with A268 Tower Street.

The Grove to Little Common Footpath – from the junction with U6529 The Grove to the junction with A259 Little Common Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259(T) Little Common Road – U6509 Church Hill Avenue – U60411 Unnamed Footpath – U6527 Birkdale – U6529 Pinewoods, The Grove and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 10 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

Cyprus Place – from the junction with B2089 Ferry Road to the junction with A268 Wish Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2089 Ferry Road – A268 Station Approach, Cinque Ports Street, Wish Street.

The Order commences 7 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 9 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Pett Level Road – from the junction with U6664 Canal Bank to the junction with P6959 Canal Side.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C92 Pett Level Road, Battery Hill, Fairlight Road – A259 Old London Road, Rye Road – A259(T) Winchelsea Road, White Hart Hill, Winchelsea Road, Rye Road, The Thorne, Main Road, Hastings Road, Rectory Lane, Roberts Hill, Ferry Hill, Tanyard Lane – C92 Sea Road, Pett Level Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 23 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3168 Cranbrook Road, St Leonards-on-Sea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which continues temporarily to close the following length of road:

Temporary Road Closure

Cranbrook Road – from the junction with U3168 Salisbury Road to the junction with U3168 St Pauls Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3168 Salisbury Road, Horntye Road, St Pauls Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 July 2026 and is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice dated 27 May 2026 and a Temporary Successive Notice dated 17 June 2026 under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.  The Order lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closure will be in place between 8 July and 8 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

Cooden Sea Road – from the junction with A259 Little Common Road to the junction with U6509 Church Hill.

Diversion via U6527 Birkdale – U6534 Collington Avenue – B2098 Sutherland Avenue and vice versa.

Peartree Lane – from the junction with A259 Little Common Road to the junction with U6507 Green Lane.

Diversion via C346 Turkey Road – A269 Ninfield Road, London Road – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A259 Little Common Road and vice versa.

Chestnut Walk – from the junction with A259 Little Common Road to the junction with U6503 The Gorseway.

Diversion via U6503 The Gorseway, Cowdray Park Road – C346 Turkey Road – A269 Ninfield Road, London Road – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A259 Little Common Road and vice versa. 

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic set out above.

The Order commences 9 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 11 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
