THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (CROSSLEY ROAD, HEATON CHAPEL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Crossley Road, Heaton Chapel, from the junction of Sir Richard Fairey Road to the junction of Westholme Avenue, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for structure repair works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 2 nights. A diversion will be provided via Stockport Road, Albert Road, Kingsway, Grange Thorpe Drive, and vice versa. This Order is to come into operation on the 30 July 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
