NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Crompton Way, Lowton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 27th July 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Crompton Way, Lowton on 27th July 2026 to 29th July 2026.
The alternative route for traffic is: Newton Road – Pocket Nook Lane.
The Order is necessary to allow new electric connection.
Henfold Road, Tyldesley – Prohibition of Driving
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3, 4 and 92 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Henfold Road, Tyldesley) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit driving at all times on:
• Henfold Road, Tyldesley (East side) from a point 12 metres south of Garrett Lane for a distance of 21 metres.
A copy of the proposed Order, and of the relevant map, and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing libby.gill@wigan.gov.uk
Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan or by emailing the above email, quoting reference RD/LS/LG/16829108 not later than 30th July 2026.
Henfold Road, Tyldesley – Proposed Puffin Crossing
Notice of Intent
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 23(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, has resolved to introduce a puffin crossing on the following street:
• Henfold Road, Tyldesley at a point 7 metres south of its junction with Garrett Lane for a distance of 4 metres.
A copy of the map showing the respective position of the proposed puffin pedestrian crossing will be available to view at https://www.wigan.gov.uk/Resident/Parking-Roads-Travel/Roads/Traffic-regs-orders.aspx or will be available upon request by emailing libby.gill@wigan.gov.uk
