THE LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES (SPECIAL EVENTS) (VARIOUS STREET PARTIES) (NO. 2) ORDER 2026

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on the 30 June 2026 made the above Order under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
  2. The general effect of this Order is to facilitate the holding of a street party in various streets to allow residents to celebrate a special event within their communities.
  3. The street which will be closed is listed in the Schedule to this notice. Full details of the lengths of street which will be closed and times when the closures will be in force will be contained in the order referred to in the next paragraph.
  4. Copies of the Order:
    (a) can be inspected until 31 December 2026, quoting Reference 26/107 at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and
    (b) may be viewed on the Council's web-site at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices
  5. Nothing in the Order applies to:
    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;
    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or
    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes

Temporary Road Closure
Bell Lane, Twickenham.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Bell Lane, Twickenham.
  2. Whilst the work takes place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in Bell Lane, Twickenham from the junction with the Embankment to the junction with Church Street, the closure will be on a rolling basis.
  3. The order will come into effect 06 July 2026. These works are anticipated to be in progress from 06 July to 25 July 2026 the order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
  4. Whilst the closure is in place an alternative route for traffic will be via Church Street, Water Lane, The Embankment.
  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.
  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:
    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;
    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or
    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.
  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Friars Lane, Richmond.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecom works, they intend to make a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Friars Lane, Richmond.
  2. Whilst the work takes place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in Friars Lane, Richmond from the junction with Retreat Road to a point outside the White Cross Public House Riverside.
  3. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via King Street, Maids of Honour Row, Portland Terrace, Duke Street, The Square, Eton Street, Paradise Road, Red Lion Street.
  4. The order will come into effect 14 July 2026. These works are anticipated to be in progress from 14 July to 16 July 2026 the order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.
  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:
    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;
    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or
    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  3. The order will come into effect 13 July 2026. These works are anticipated to be in progress from 13 July to 15 July 2026 the order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
  4. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.
