PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order was made on 26th June 2026, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The order will divert public bridleway Sedlescombe 14 from TQ 7764 2085 running in a south-westerly direction for 121 metres to TQ 7759 2074 (A-B on the order map), to a new route running from TQ 7764 2085 in a generally southerly direction from for 120 metres to TQ 7762 2073 then in a west northwesterly direction for 24 metres to TQ 7759 2074 (A-C-B on the order map), having a width of 5 metres.
A copy of the Order and Order Map and an explanatory statement have been deposited and can be inspected free of charge Main Reception County Council County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes Mondays to Fridays between 9.00am and 4.00pm and at Rother District Council’s Offices, Town Hall, London Road, Bexhill-on-Sea TN39 3JX, during office opening times. Copies of the Order may also be purchased from the County Council (price £1.00). Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to Rights of Way & Access Team, East Sussex County Council, West B, County Hall, Lewes, BN7 1UE, or via email row.consultations@eastsussex.gov.uk, no later than 31st July 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made and quote reference RWO/DIV/SEDLESCOMBE14/MH. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the East Sussex County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
