The East Sussex (Public Footpath Herstmonceux 26a (part), Herstmonceux 30b)
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025
To protect public safety during a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 19 December 2025 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpaths:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Herstmonceux 26a will be closed to all users between TQ 6364 1242 and TQ 6360 1221 for a distance of 217 metres.
The whole of Public Footpath Herstmonceux 30b will be closed to all users between TQ 6364 1242 and TQ 6381 1215 for a distance of 355 metres.
An alternative route will be available around the edge of the field to the south of the development beginning to the southwest of TQ 6364 1242 and going to the southwest field corner, continuing to the southeast to re-join the remaining part of Herstmonceux 26a heading to the south-west and then continuing in a generally easterly direction to Chapel Row to re-join the southernmost part of Herstmonceux 30b which has reopened and vice versa. Please note, there is no longer an alternative route for Herstmonceux 30b to the north of this footpath.
The closure will be in force for 12 months from 5 July 2026, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use.

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
North Hall Lane – from the junction with A275 Sheffield Park to the junction with C206 High Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C206 High Street, Church Street, Ruston Bridge Road – A272 Batts Bridge Road, Goldbridge Road, The Green, High Street, Western Road, Station Road – A275 East Grinstead Road, Sheffield Park and vice versa.
The Order commences 6 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 6 and 7 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Witherenden Road – from the junction with C211 Waterloo Road to the junction with C406 Scotsford Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C211 Waterloo Road – C214 Witherenden Hill, Swing Gate Hill – A265 Heathfield Road, Burwash Road – C406 Scotsford Road, Street End Lane, Scotsford Hill and vice versa.
The Order commenced 13 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 9 and 10 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Bannings Vale – from the junction with A259 Marine Drive to the junction with U5901 Crowborough Road. Diversion via A259 Marine Drive – U5905 Hamsey Road, Bannings Vale
Hamsey Road – from the junction with A259 Marine Drive to the junction with U5906 Bannings Vale.

The East Sussex (Love Supreme Festival, Glynde)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026
To facilitate the safety of participants, organisers and the travelling public attending the Love Supreme Festival in Glynde, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions in the following lengths of road:-
Temporary Prohibition of Left Hand Turn No vehicle shall be permitted to turn left onto C113 New Road from Glyndebourne.
Temporary One-Way Traffic
C325 Moor Lane – restricting traffic travelling westbound from the junction with U5664 Neaves Lane to the junction with C113 New Road.
Temporary 20 mph Speed Limit
C113 The Street/Station Road/Lacys Hill/Bishops Walk/New Road/ Ranscombe Lane – from the junction with U5665 Ranscombe Lane to the entrance to Glyndebourne.
C325 Moor Lane – from the junction with C113 New Road to the junction with U5664 Neaves Lane.
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting C325 Moor Lane – from the junction with C113 New Road to the junction with U5664 Neaves Lane.
C113 Bishops Walk/Lacys Hill/The Street/New Road/Ranscombe Lane/Station Road – from the junction with C113 New Road to the national speed limit sign.
C113 New Road – from the junction with C325 Moor Lane to the entrance to Glyndebourne.
U5665 Ranscombe Lane – from the junction with C113 The Street south-westwards for a distance of 200 metres.
Temporary Road Closure
C325 Moor Lane – at the junction with U5644 Neaves Lane (no access to the event).
The Order will be in force from 06:00hrs on 3 July 2026 to 14:00hrs on 6 July 2026
